We use scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) to investigate graphene on hexagonal boron nitride in the quantum Hall regime, ABC stacked graphene flakes, the spectroscopic features of graphene quantum dots as well as of edge states. Furthermore, we study the mechanical properties of natural graphene nanomembranes on SiO2. Additionally, we fabricate graphene nanostructures using scanning force microscopy with the help of local anodic oxidation and determine the transport properties in combination with wave function mapping.
Central goals are the direct comparison of wave function mapping with the transport properties of graphene nanostructures, the observation of magnetic features in graphene flakes and understanding interaction effects in the quantum hall regime.
