Semiconductors
Low-Dimensional III-V semiconductors are investigated by scanning tunneling spectroscopy, photolectron spectroscopy and transport measurements. In particular, two dimensional systems in magnetic field are probed as prototypes of tunable quantum phase transitions.
Central goal is the determination of fingerprints of the different electron phases and its transitions in real space.
Methods
- Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES)
- Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and spectroscopy (STS)
